23.000 Lives

As more people attempt the dangerous sea crossing to Europe, a group of young Berliners decide to act. With no experience but strong conviction, they crowdfund an old ship and sail to the Mediterranean, where they rescue people in distress and confront difficult questions about law and justice. The film is inspired by the true story of Jugend Rettet and its ship Iuventa.
